A Year of Frustration with a Defective Frigidaire Fridge and the WORST Customer Service

I bought this fridge in October 2024 for a small in-law unit and, one year later, am still dealing with Frigidaire and this defective product. From the beginning, this fridge froze anything that you would put in the back of the middle shelf. I contact Frigidaire shortly after buying it and they sent a third-party technician that's contracted to do this work by Frigidaire to do the repair. The tech made some adjustments, which didn't help. I don't remember the exact details because so much time has passed and so many techs have come and gone, but I have likely had at least 10 visits from either directly employed Frigidaire/Electrolux techs or third-party techs, none of whom have been able to resolve the issue despite replacing several parts TWICE. The situation became even more bizarre after my most recent customer service call. I was told that if, after yet another visit, the tech confirmed that the fridge is defective, it would be replaced. The tech came, confirmed the food was frozen, and insisted on replacing parts again. When I mentioned the replacement promise, he claimed there were no records of the previous part replacements. We called customer service together, who confirmed the parts had been replaced. Still, the tech refused to declare the fridge unrepairable™"because the previous replacements were done by third-party contractors, not Frigidaire employees. This is even though he acknowledged that these third-party techs were representatives of Frigidaire.Even more absurdly, the tech refused to acknowledge that the fridge had the exact parts he wanted to replace already replaced twice, despite customer service confirming it. And Frigidaire won™™t replace the fridge unless a tech officially declares it unrepairable. So now, I™™m having the same parts replaced a third time.Let™™s not forget the countless hours spent on hold with customer service, the full-day appointment windows (8am™5pm) that often ended in last-minute cancellations, and the sheer frustration of navigating Frigidaire™™s Catch-22 policies. This is, without question, the worst customer service experience I™™ve ever had. I™™ve never written a review before, but this experience was so awful, I felt compelled to warn others.

I bought this fridge in October 2024 because I needed a small fridge for a small in-law unit to replace another 20 year-old Frigidaire refrigerator that was actually working fine but we thought it was nonetheless time to replace. I bought this fridge in part because of the good experience I had with my prior fridge. Unfortunately, from the very beginning, this refrigerator has been problematic, and the customer service at Frigidaire has been awful. The middle of the fridge freezes anything that you put there. I called customer service and they sent a third-party contractor to fix the fridge. I won™™t get into every detail, but the refrigerator wasn™™t fixed at that time and nearly one year later and probably 8 service calls or more, the refrigerator still is not repaired. To make matters even more absurd, we just had a Frigidaire technician come and tell us that they have no records of the work having being performed so they need to replace some parts that they™™d already replaced TWICE. I called the customer service people who talked to the technician and confirmed that we had had various parts replaced two times, but the Frigidaire technician still refuse to say that this refrigerator wasn™™t repairable and should be replaced, and unless the technician says that the refrigerator isn™™t repairable, Frigidaire won™™t replace it. So now I™™m waiting on yet another repair. The reason that the tech said that he wanted to do a third replacement of the parts is because the tech group didn™™t have any documentation showing that this had already been repaired even though the customer service people did have the documentation. It™™s just so unbelievably bizarre it™™s hard to believe. I won™™t even get into the numerous times that I waited around for the entire workday for a tech to show up just to have them reschedule at the end of the day. It™™s as if my time is completely valueless. So the refrigerator itself is defective and the customer service is the worst I™™ve ever experienced in my entire life in any situation. Very frustrated and disappointed.

You will have to read the manual to know that the actual ambient operating temperature range is 55F to 110F, unlike how it is advertised for 38F to 110F. Only the freezer portion can operate in the 38F-110F range and, unfortunately, the freezer is permanently attached to the refrigerator making that range meaningless and the advertised functionality is deceptive.

Does what it's supposed to do. Pretty basic - no light in Freezer, no butter or egg holder, door doesn't "automatically" close as a more expensive refrigerator would. Exterior has some minor blemishes that would have not happened if they had placed a clear vinyl wrap sheet on the surface like they do on TV's. Thought it was made in the USA - but it was from Thailand. That being said - I would purchase again.
